- Linked to the Business: The skills you are trying to develop must be pertinent to business results. Will they tie into and promote your overall goals?
- Supported: The learning must be adequately funded (in terms of dollars, time, personnel, technology and structures) to succeed.
- Rewarded: The new behaviors need to be encouraged with a recognition and reward system for individuals as well as teams.
- Coached: There needs to be ongoing coaching to embed the new behaviors in the organization, to support a continuous learning process, and to ensure the transfer of training back to the job.
- Measured: Systematic reviews will allow you to evaluate the effectiveness of the initiative regularly and make adjustments as needed.
